Genuine OpenAI recruiters write from the company's own domain and won't send you off to a look-alike such as openai-careers.example. And the setup is familiar, a flattering "your profile caught our attention" opener, a marquee AI name, and a reply-to-continue ask. That's the fake-recruiter template. Real recruiters use the company's own domain and never ask you to pay for onboarding or equipment.

The trick borrows OpenAI's reputation and layers on just enough plausibility, a remote role, a warm tone, that stopping to read the domain starts to feel rude instead of routine.
